  • VOD rip-off

    By WorldWideWinder
It was fine until they transformed the DVR into VOD randomly. If I wanted to watch the commercials then I wouldn’t care about bothering to record something. It’s all very typical.
  • Commercials!!!!

    By K-ATL
I love the channel selection. Would love to see HGTV added to the lineup. The DVR is nice too. What I do not like is when I record a show and the next day it is already available On Demand so I am stuck watching commercials, which is the whole point of a DVR. There must be a way to allow us to watch the latest episode without suffering through commercials. Having to deal with commercials would be enough to go back to using cable TV. And could you please add the ability to mark a show read without having to sit through the show and the commercials.
  • Almost Everything I Need

    By Smoove Operator
I believe for the $40 subscription, YouTube Ad-Free music should be included. But other than that, it’s everything I need. So far I’m enjoying the service.
  • I Need South Park

I love YouTube Tv, I really enjoy watching it. Please bring us South Park
  • Commercial after commercial tv

    By Batesburg Byron
If you liked network tv in the 60’s and watching endless commercials, you’ll probably love this product.
  • Above the other streaming apps

    By No playback for you
I've tried a handful of the others and was very disappointed and cancelled them. This one works very well and the only thing that I would want to add is the ability to have recordings extend an hour or 2 as an selectable option. Sports don't always finish on time and they do not always get auto recognized by the app the way the FAQ explains. Overall still very happy with this.
  • DVR forces commercials, kids shows show adult commercials

    By SDMFdisciple
For a while I felt YouTube tv was the pick of the litter, the main feature for me being the DVR. For the most part, streaming does not have a lot of good content, and I’ve been spoiled by on-demand services. Besides, my schedule is too hectic to sit down for scheduled programs on the hour. A real DVR service fixes that, providing that it has the ability to skip commercials and fast forward to portions of the program without being interrupted. As of last night I discovered I can no longer do this - DVR is now on-demand with fixed commercial breaks inserted within. Picture this - I recorded SNL, and want to scan through for a specific sketch. Seeking past a commercial break means wherever I land I have to now sit through 6 commercials. If I land in the wrong place and need to seek again, I will probably trigger another 6 and be forced to sit. Even better - a commercial break was erroneously triggered in the MIDDLE of a sketch. Additionally - if we’re watching a kids program with our two year old, there will occasionally be a commercial for a horror movie, Victoria’s Secret, or something equally inappropriate inserted randomly in the unable-to-be-skipped commercial breaks. Unfortunately, these two things are deal breakers for me. I’m out.
  • Mostly good. Needs more user preferences.

    By Podbass
It works great. Usability needs much improvement. The video controls are different from other video apps on the iPhone like Hulu. Google needs to follow the best practices already defined by other iPhone apps. As I software developer myself, it looks to me like they are trying to reinvent the wheel. MOST IMPORTANT MISSING FEATURE. Add the ability to select what channels show up in the program guide. I don’t want all the FOX channels and I don’t need every single sports channel. The guide is cluttered with channels I don’t want. ALMOST COMPLETELY USELESS. Other then that, it’s a great app. Beats paying CableVision for terrible service.
  • Recent update terrible

    By Justenb31
Removed recently recorded section. Now it’s grouped by shows? This is terrible. Please revert back to showing us episodes recorded from most recent to least recent. Also now they are forcing shows with ads. Before you could access your DVR version that would let you fast forward. Now it’s pushing the ad version instead. Hard to find the live version. Please fix.
  • Strange setup for recordings

    By Jefebano
I like the service best compared to any other streaming tv option. The app however makes it difficult to find your recordings, which got even worse with the recent updates. Why can’t we see all recordings in the order they were recorded? And why can’t we see a full list? The navigation makes no sense! It’s frustrating enough to make me consider canceling. I would love to see program listings too. Not just what is currently on, and not go through each channel separately to see what’s coming up, but a full guide with all channels, with the ability to scroll to any time of day.
