  • Great! But could use some improvements

    By eriktamu
I am in Austin, TX and didn’t want to pay for a super high cable bill any longer. We were deciding between Hulu TV and YouTube TV. The ONLY reason we went for YouTube was because they have AMC so I can get my Walking Dead fix! Great streaming service. I use it via my Xbox One, but using it through an Xbox has it’s downfalls. For instance, when you DVR something and you want to skip through the commercials you have to time it just right in the fast forwarding. I find myself having to rewind a bit to catch the show coming back on from commercial. I would give a 5 star rating if it had the capability, like TiVo has, where you can press fast forward until you see your show then push play and it automatically plays about 5 seconds earlier from where you stopped fast forwarding. Or, I would give 5 stars if they implemented a way for one button fast forward through commercials where the show started back up right as commercials ended. I don’t know if this is just an issue on Xbox or if Apple TV or laptop viewing also has this problem, but it is kind of frustrating/disappointing coming from a Grande Communications DVR system to this. Grande Communications DVR via TiVo is hands down the most ergonomic system I’ve used. Please update this, YouTube! I will update to 5 stars if y’all can make this happen! Everything else is superb! The stream quality, UI of menus. There could be some improvements on user channel choices but I currently have no complaints with this, everything I religiously watch is already provided.

Pretty sweet. Works here in STL wonderfully. It’s definitely worth $40, but I don’t have the additional $40/month to warrant watching TV. One week trial during the Olympics was perfect. Much better than Charter Cable Communications.
  • Fast forward is impossible

    By Esamuel
Really need to make the fast forward / reverse better. There is no way to just fast forward past commercials. It should be more intuitive. Also, the app constantly disconnects and the reconnection process takes way too long. Maybe integrate chromecast better with a tv remote.
  • 4 stars for only one reason...

    By Smiley Hysell
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is it’s missing some key channels that my family loves, A&E Networks, DIY Network, and Hallmark, if it wasn’t for those three channels missing I’d give this service 10 stars. It’s, as a service really perfect...I mean it’s basically regular cable without paying 20/mo to rent a stupid box just to get access to the content you already pay spectrum $200-$300/mo to watch and record, how can you not like that, and it’s only $39.00/mo

  • So far so good

    By Arabldie
I decided to try this as an alternative to the many problems I have with Hulu live tv. First, You Tube tv is cheaper. I prefer the UI with Youtube TV, and the stream quality seems to be better - no skipping, no playing the same 10 seconds 3 times in a row, and no restarting live feed once a show ends. Cons for me are there are WAY too many sports channels and missing History and Travel channels.

  • Don’t Fall for the YouTube Red Trick!

    By spammernaut
I tried to download a 2hr YouTube video for viewing while I am on a flight, but then the YouTube app prompted me to install YouTube Red. What they DON’T tell you is that there is a $12.99/mo fee for using YouTube Red!!! Thanks for nothin’, Larry & Sergei!!!
