Did I just download YouTube or YouJoke? The latest update introduces a frustrating “Error loading Tap to Retry” after EVERY VIDEO!!! Didn’t do that before this update. 2 generous stars for such an impressive update. #WhyDidiUpdate?
  • Why did they change the minimized player exit to be a button instead of sliding it away like before?

It's a lot easier to accidentally close a playing video now and it's really annoying. The sliding was also a lot more intuitive and easier on my arthritis

Youtube was a great website. Back then, anyone can make anything. But now, a lot of videos and channels are getting deleted or demonetized. YouTube now expects you to only post family friendly content. All of the freedom has just been demolished. Bring back the old YouTube, where people aren’t forced to make content for 10 year olds. YouTube isn’t the website it was built to be anymore sadly.

App is constantly changing completely, adding useless and buggy mechanics 30 second ads for 10 second videos, Some of which are completely misleading. Also still annoyed you can't play videos in the background. In fact YouTube has gone out of their way to prevent other streaming apps from doing this as well. Don't really care for YouTube much anymore but whatcha gonna do...

I don’t like how you can now make posts on YouTube. There is already Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other sites that have that function. The posts on here stick out like a sore thumb. Also, the automatic video play on YouTube’s homepage is annoying. I wanna beable to click on the videos I wanna watch, not for them to play all by their selves.

YouTube is a massive service and on the surface, is a great app. Depending on signal strength, the quality of videos and interface is easy to navigate and quite handy, but the moment money is put into the equation, the standard becomes so much higher. With that being said, people who spends money for YouTube Red is subsequently being ripped off. For 13 dollars, you are allowed access to Red perks which includes saving videos for offline use, no more ads and exclusive member only content. The problem here is the exclusive content isn’t any good and simple features are either missing or removed from the app. As I am making this review, I can’t help but notice that the shuffle button for offline use has basically been removed with this current update. The shuffle button now skips to a random video in your playlist and will always go back to that video until you restart the app entirely, but will continues in order from that original video. I also must say it is an outrage to see that there isn’t a video specific auto replay button seeing how we have to pay 13 dollars for what’s basically an overpriced ad blocker. For a free user, the YouTube app is great and easy to overlook it’s faults, but I cannot say the same for Red members. In my opinion, YouTube Red is a rip-off and you should save your money until YouTube starts making better content and adding more features within the app.
