This app makes learning a language fun
  • Great

Amazing app, really teaches you the basics as long as you keep practicing. No ones perfect, but mastery is possible.
  • Has flaws while translating

    By Vasistanitin
It’s a very useful app but one major flaw I noticed while learning Portuguese is the listening section when you listen to a person speak in Portuguese and then you write the English translation in response. Though I am entering the correct translation and it exactly matches the answer in the pop up, the app says it’s a wrong answer. Very annoying and disappointing to see this. A great app overall but this has to be fixed in order to achieve the greatness this app deserves.
  • Love the app but extremely frustrated

    By thetank1978
I love the app and I would give it 5 stars but for the health change. Within the last few months the health meter was put in and it has really made it hard to get past some sections. To have trouble with new sections and then have to wait over a full day for new health really kills a good streak! Most games that do similar will only take an hour or so before you are back to full strength and can try again. I have had to use the computer to retry the section because I am out of gems on my phone. I have a 531 day streak going and really don’t want to lose it. I am frustrated enough that I have considered stopping my use of the app. Please fix this!

Love the app but don’t like this new health thing that pauses you from learning. I guess it is better than paying for the app but I think that would make it less annoying if there was a one time small purchase price instead of these continuous pop up ads
  • Several problems with basic French

    By Alejo73
I just started using the app, signed up for a subscription and I can’t go to the next level in French without doing a practice course, which unfortunately has several bugs that block my correct responses (e.g. black cat for chat noir). So, I’m stuck waiting until the app timer allows me to progress; very frustrating for a tool meant to help you learn French, not how to wait.
  • Can’t get past lessons!

By Finding ways not to work
I got this app to try to keep up the Spanish I learned in school. It’s great in all things except one: when it asks me to write a translation for a sentence, I will write it, it will tell me I’m wrong, and then it will show me that the correct answer is the exact same thing I wrote. I even started including the correct punctuation in everything but it didn’t make a difference. I can’t skip these questions or move on to the next lesson without getting them “correct” - which I already have. It’s very frustrating, as this glitch has made the app useless for me.
  • Please add more stuff to do with Lingots.

    By DivideHanBy3
I would like to see more of a reward system in duolingo. There really isn't a point to getting lingots and Duo doesn't show up even when I buy the champagne tracksuit. If you were to fit a reward system like maybe a customization feature for your Duo or maybe make duo a pet, then there would be a point.
