  • Trial period lasted ~2h....

Signed up for the 1 week trial, but after 2h app disabled my access due to lack of subscription. Needless to say I kicked it to the curb. Lousy is an understatement.
  • Losing track of episodes watched..

    By mveaglesnest40
With all the IOS updates lately the Acorn app is not keeping track of which shows/episodes we have watched. This can make things a little confusing. The problem is on our iPhones and iPads, all running the latest IOS updates. The same thing happened about a year ago and the problem was resolved in a few weeks. We have been having this problem for 3-4 weeks. Other than this the app works just fine and of course we really like the shows.
  • For British TV Lovers

    By McKenzieC
Love to keep up with my favorite British mysteries and drama. Pros: Easy menu and layout. There are cables to connect to your smart tv in case you don’t want to watch on a device. Cons: You have to manually click on each episode to watch it unlike other apps where you click the first episode to start and the rest follow. Also, buying through Apple costs $2 more than just subscribing from their website or ordering through Amazon. Both of these options DO allow continuous play for binge watching. Only the app does not.
  • Great content, lousy app

    By HurricaneFinley
The BBC offers incredible content, as do the other former colonies. The app does not fare as well. Even though I have to sign in and I am paying for the content, it does not transfer from one device to another and I have to fast forward to where I ended elsewhere. Also I cannot turn off the subtitles on my iPad. The instructions say go to General and there is no general on my iPad. Please fix your app.
  • Awful, just don’t.

They keep changing me even though I canceled 3 months ago.
  • Excellent value

Love Brit, Aussie, Kiwi telly and this fits the billI appreciate getting access to my favorite shows faster than waiting for Masterpiece Theatre. Acorn, directly from their website vs iTunes, offers sweet deal when you subscribe for full year in advance. Plus I can access via multiple devices. Selection could be better, especially from down under, but they are stepping up their offerings over the last year. Streaming is typically flawless- when bandwidth allows- so not an Acorn issue, always the internet connection. Acorn is by far the best value, most reliable and most diverse streaming channel, app, out there.
  • Poorly designed, doesn’t work

This app is poorly designed. It also doesn’t work. I deleted and reinstalled and it still doesn’t work.
  • Need iOS updates, offline viewing and other items

    By hoorayberet00
Original review: Hi- Similar to other streaming services, Acorn content is unavailable to download for offline viewing...why? I ask because this is extremely helpful when trying to take advantage of my new subscription to Acorn TV but don't have Wi-Fi in all areas when traveling. Or when I'm at the gym and their Wi-Fi doesn't allow access to streaming content. Amazon Prime, Netflix, iTunes, Comcast Xfinity, Showtime and many others allow downloading for offline enjoyment. Please consider this option. We do pay for this service and keeping pace with competition is necessary as competitors are making compelling suggestions why money should be spent on their attractive services. Also, please make sure that your content is searchable by the Siri Remote for Apple TV and for iPad's Spotlight Search. Just like having your content integrated with IMDb's search capabilities is very helpful. I think they also call it Universal Search. Moreover, one of the first impressions I had with your service was poor. I tried to simply play the trailer for the title "Emma" featuring Kate Beckinsale. I received an error that it was not able to play the trailer. I have to hope this was just a poor first impression. But this impression will stick with me and the folks who got it for my birthday. Please remedy this situation. Please add support for picture-in-picture viewing in iOS. Many of your competitors support picture-in-picture viewing. It's essential for someone like me to get things done. My understanding is the coding for this is not difficult and there are lots of resources out there to help your developers create the best viewing experience. Please allow for full-screen viewing on iPad. Lastly, while I have not completed my full survey of your catalog of titles, it would be fantastic if your content was helped by Siri for searching. I asked for Acorn as a gift for a reason: your content appeals to me. And I hope I'm wrong in perceiving the lack of keeping pace with technology. Keeping pace with available technology allows you to deliver a best-in-class viewing experience to a group of people you'll attract and retain who wish to reward you for that. I look forward to enhancements that your app and service will have. Updated review: The customer service is awful! I had to ask more than three times when my gift subscription is to end. I STILL do not have an answer. I asked because I joined when there was a promotion and I was to get an extra month free. And it seems like they are not on the ball enough where I feel they can be trusted with giving proper accounting. It shocks me that poor customer experience seems to be the norm. It seems they withhold so much of their own content in their own app. It is tremendously disappointing to see that they have more of their content in others apps. As opposed to making the Acorn TV app the place to fully enjoy the fruits of their labor. You are not able to use their content with Apple’s TV app. So you’re not able to always add items to Up Next. As time has gone by, the app has such few titles and their “schedule lineup” is a joke. It seems Hulu, Netflix, Hoopla, iTunes or even Amazon Prime would be the better place to spend money to get Acorn TV content that is desirable. For example, why isn’t all of the seasons of Doctor McFinlay loaded into the Acorn app? I would very much appreciate seeing customer input acted upon so I can convince my parents to give me another year’s worth. I want your app/service to be extremely successful. But it needs some serious overhaul and adding of desirable content - which is content you already have, too. Placing the customers at the center of everything you do is what I look for in a company. Your parent company and Acorn TV is getting a bad reputation due to such a poor customer experience. It stings to see that content you add is only added after appearing in other apps/content providers. But I look forward to seeing swift changes and I hope my feedback was helpful. If beta testers are what you need, please advertise this. Survey your customers to validate my stated observations. Obviously, if poor customer engagement is what you experience...that will also be quite telling. I notice your service does not add new content or refresh its content offerings frequently as it does in other services like BritBox or with Amazon Prime. It’s embarrassing for your company and of course buyers remorse for the users. For example, season 8 of Vera is not showing up in Acorn app but shows up in BritBox. P.S. - If you wish to add any French or Canadian-French items, I am very interested in this.
  • Good content terrible app

    By cooks2music
As others have said, the shows on acorn are good and what you expect. The Apple TV app just falls flat. It seems like a company’s first attempt at an app without having ever looked at any other stream app. There is no working viewing history or place saving. All shows start at the beginning of the first episode of the first season. If you wish to watch a show in installment you have to remember where you were, find the correct episode and fast forward to where you left off. As this is a common complaint in the reviews, I have to question the company’s commitment to providing support and customer service.
  • Bad customer service

    By bepsue
Customer service doesn’t thoroughly read emails, responds to questions you didn’t even ask. Also, when watching video on device, it won’t rotate to horizontal view.
