  • Love this channel!!

Huge horror fan here, this AppleTV app has become one of my favorite “channels” to watch. Speaking of channels, I love the four programmed channels that come up when you open the app: It Came From Shudder (general channel) Psychological Thrillers, Slashics, and Wicked Grin. I have been introduced to a lot of movies by just checking out what’s on. I was initially worried there wouldn’t be enough titles to warrant a subscription, but I am happy to say that’s not been the case. Lots of oddball, older, and obscure movies, and the growing list of exclusives is getting better and better. Yes, there are a lot of foreign-language titles, to me that’s been a big plus, as I’d never have heard of most of them otherwise. And as for the movies that are already on other platforms: sometimes it’s just easier to discover them here, as they can get buried on other platforms. I’ll skip over a lot of the (legit) functionality requests others have posted about and finish by saying: this horror nut is VERY happy he got an annual subscription

I love this streaming service. For $5 a MONTH you get so many amazing horror movies, from classics to indie festival stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily come across. I’ve got Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon prime as well, but this service scratches my horror itch like no other

This app plays movies fine on the iPad but the movies do not show up on the tv while using the hdmi cable. Please fix.
  • A surprisingly good place to see horror movies.

When I first got this app, I wasn't expecting much. I thought I would try it and probably get rid of it. As I was looking through the selection of movies, I realized that it rivals Hulu and Netflix for content. Plus they are always adding more. If you are a fan of horror movies, then this is definitely the app for you.
  • Difficult to cancel

Site has some good (but limited) movies, but was difficult to cancel the service. You can’t cancel via the website, you can’t cancel via the app, the only method I found was to cancel the payment subscription in iTunes but then Shudder STILL tried to charge my account after the trial ended! If I log back in the check the account status I’ll be charged the yearly rate of 47.99 so no thanks. Sites should have transparent ways to handle ones account, if I sign up via app I should be able to clearly and easily cancel my account via the same method.

  • Where are the well known American horrors??

I just downloaded this app.. and I have to say I’m already disappointed. If you think you’re going to find movies you’re familiar with you’re wrong. I was expecting all the old school horrors.. Halloween.. Friday the 13th.. Child’s Play.. Nightmare on Elm Street.. Hellraiser.. Leprechaun.. IT.. Scream.. Hostel.. Saw.. Nope... they are all foreign movies. Theres not even any Rob Zombie movies on here.. This app really needs to step their inventory up if you want to keep horror fans happy. I’m not impressed at all. 👎🏼👎🏼
  • Worth every penny, but.......

The only complaint I have is that I wish Shudder would add new movies to their app faster. I have had the app for some time and I'm finding it hard to find a good movie to watch. Most of the time the new movies are excellent. I have no complaints there. Just wish they would be added more often. Anyway, If you're a fan of the horror genre, this is a must have app. There are plenty of hard to find horror movies and also plenty of "shorts." There are horror movies from all continents with subtitles that often outperform their American counterpart. Definitely a must have for me, and it's a very affordable app for what you are getting.

I am so happy that I found Shudder. What I love about this streaming service is the range of viewing material. It’s not all gore and guts; there is something for everyone.
